That philosophy led to the creation of the original OMORPHO G-Vest, a sleek, form-fitting weighted vest that redefined what resistance training could look and feel like. But we didn’t stop there. Over the past two years, our team has been working relentlessly to create the next evolution of the G-Vest, taking everything our community loves and adding the freedom to easily adjust resistance on the fly.
The result is the OMORPHO G-Vest Icon, our first adjustable weighted vest featuring the revolutionary new G-Pack quick-snap system. It’s the culmination of nearly two years of research, testing, and refinement to create the most comfortable, intuitive, and performance-ready adjustable vest ever made.
The Journey Begins: Listening, Learning, and Reimagining
Every innovation at OMORPHO starts with listening to our athletes, trainers, and community. After launching the original G-Vest, we heard consistent feedback from users across the spectrum: they loved the comfort, the freedom of movement, and the benefits of MicroLoad™ resistance, but many wanted the ability to scale their training, to go lighter for mobility work or heavier for endurance and strength training.
“Every OMORPHO product begins with solving a real problem for real people,” says Stefan Olander, CEO of OMORPHO. “The G-Vest Icon is a direct response to our community asking for adjustability without sacrificing the comfort and performance they’ve come to expect from us.”
The challenge was clear: build an adjustable weighted vest that preserves OMORPHO’s trademark fit, design and freedom of movement, while making it effortless to modify load.
Rethinking What Adjustable Means
Traditional adjustable vests rely on metal bars, sandbags, or clunky plates that compromise comfort and biomechanics. They shift around during workouts, restrict movement, require tools to add/remove and make even simple exercises cumbersome.
OMORPHO’s design and product teams set out to reinvent adjustability from the ground up one that would look, feel, and perform like no other weighted vest before it.
“We started with a question,“What if we could make adjustability feel invisible?” says Natalie Canadian, OMORPHO’s Creative Director. “What if adding or removing weight could be as intuitive as snapping in a puzzle piece smooth, secure, and beautifully integrated into an OMORPHO weighted vest?”
That question sparked a two-year journey of prototyping, testing, and refining. We explored numerous attachable panel and fastening concepts, from magnets to Velcro, until we found the perfect option The result: a sleek, interlocking weight system called the G-Pack.
Engineering the Future: The G-Pack System
The G-Pack system replaces clunky bars and sandbags with custom-engineered weight panels that snap securely into place using a quick snap mechanism. No tools, no zippers, no Velcro needed. Just a simple, satisfying click that tells you the panel is secure and ready.
Each G-Pack consists of three pliable weight panels (two front and one back panel) that feature OMORPHO’s distinct MicroLoad design, distributing weight evenly across the vest allowing for natural movement and balance. The interlocking design ensures the vest remains slim, flexible, and comfortable whether you’re sprinting, lifting, or hiking.
“The G-Pack weighted inserts represent a breakthrough in functional design,” says Irene Ilcheva, OMORPHO’s Head of Product Creation. “It gives users the ability to scale resistance instantly without any compromise to comfort, fit, or movement.”
With this innovation, the men’s G-Vest Icon comes standard at 10 lbs and adjusts up to 20 lbs, while the women’s model starts at 6 lbs and adjusts up to 12 lbs. The modular design allows athletes to progressively increase resistance as strength and endurance improve making it ideal for everyone from elite performers to everyday fitness enthusiasts.
Design That Moves With You
While function was paramount, form remained essential. The G-Vest Icon maintains OMORPHO’s reputation for premium design sleek, minimal, and body-contoured. Every curve and seam was engineered to follow the natural lines of the body, ensuring the vest feels more like a second skin than a piece of equipment. Moreover, our men’s and women’s G-Vests are contoured to fit each body type distinctly based on research of hundreds of body scans to ensure proper fit and function.
The materials were chosen not only for durability but for comfort and breathability, with pliable panels that move naturally during any type of workout.
“We obsessed over the details,” says Candrian. “From the placement of each G-Pack to the texture of the fabrics, every decision was about maximizing freedom and minimizing distraction.”
From Prototype to Performance
Developing the G-Vest Icon wasn’t just about creating something new, it was about serving the real world needs of athletes and consumers. OMORPHO’s product team worked with professional athletes, trainers, and everyday users across to fine-tune the design.
Feedback loops were constant: what worked, what didn’t, what could be better. The result is a product that not only meets the needs of high-performance athletes but enhances the experience of anyone looking to get stronger, move better, and feel more confident in their training.
“Our test athletes pushed the vest to its limits,” says Ilcheva. “From HIIT sessions to long hikes, we refined every aspect based on real movement feedback. The final product is something we’re incredibly proud of, the perfect balance of form, function, and innovation.”
