The Science of Running in OMORPHO MicroLoad™ Weighted Gear

OMORPHO Team

Running is one of the most accessible and effective ways to build fitness and boost mental clarity. But what if every stride could do more, helping you build speed, increase endurance, and burn more calories, all without changing your route or routine?

That’s where OMORPHO weighted G-Wear comes in.

Built with our trademark MicroLoad™ design, OMORPHO G-Wear integrates lightweight resistance into sleek, breathable, machine-washable apparel that moves with you. From neighborhood jogs to trail runs, G-Wear distributes weight evenly across your core, arms, and legs—adding intensity to each workout without throwing off your form or flow. For more advanced runners looking to level up, the G-Vest adds an extra 3 to 10 lbs of balanced resistance across your core.

OMORPHO G-Wear isn’t just gear, it’s a performance multiplier, backed by sports science.

Boost Cardiovascular Performance and Fitness

In 2024, a study in the Journal of Sport Sciences found that soccer players who trained on the field with weighted vests equal to 12.5% of their body mass improved aerobic capacity by 3.5% in just six weeks [1]. They also saw gains in repeat sprint ability, while players who didn’t train with vests saw no improvements at all.

That translates into more stamina, faster speed, and energy that lasts longer.

Ramp up the Challenge without Compromising Technique

A 2022 study showed that athletes running with vests weighing about 10% of body mass experienced a noticeable increase in the physiological demands of running [2]. Yet, even with that extra challenge, their movement technique stayed intact.

And in 2023, another study found that when athletes ran in the OMORPHO G-Tight, they actually improved their posture [2]. Researchers suggested this likely came from better pelvic stability, which is thought to reduce the risk of hamstring injuries [3].

So you can raise the intensity of your training while reinforcing good mechanics, not sacrificing them.

Burn More Calories

Adding even a little resistance turns up the intensity on every run. In 2021, researchers studying the OMORPHO G-Tight and G-Top found that calorie burn increased by up to 8.4% during treadmill running [4].

Whether your goal is weight loss or simply staying in balance, G-Wear helps you get more out of every mile.

Prepare Smarter

It might sound surprising, but adding resistance during warm-ups can actually boost performance. In one study, athletes who wore weighted vests during their warm-up improved sprint performance immediately afterward [5]. Of the loads tested (10%, 20%, and 30% of body mass) the lighter 10% vest proved most effective [5].

That means you don’t need to go heavy to see benefits. Thanks to G-Wear’s ergonomic design, you can warm up smarter, then train faster.

Why Choose OMORPHO MicroLoad™ G-Wear?

Because comfort and performance go hand-in-hand. Unlike bulky, uneven vests that disrupt your stride, OMORPHO’s G-Wear and G-Vest are designed to move with you:

  • Even weight distribution for natural biomechanics
  • Machine-washable for everyday wear
  • Breathable, flexible fabrics for maximum comfort
  • MicroLoad™ resistance that enhances your run rather than hinders it

Start small with just 10 to 15 minutes, as recommended by OMORPHO Head of Performance and Scientific Advisor, Dr. Erin Feser, and build from there. Whether you’re new to running or prepping for your next race, G-Wear helps you go farther, faster, and smarter.

With OMORPHO G-Wear, turning your daily run into a full-body workout is as simple as getting dressed. No extra effort, just better results.
